Uncertainties are a reality of life, but sadly for many of us they can cause us a lot of anxiety, or they activate our inner control-freak, and we end up trapped in old habits of linear thinking.

I know for me my “Miss Fix-it” gets jumpstarted at the first sign of uncertainty if I don’t watch it. And before I know it, she’s demanding she knows the answer and my thinking gets quickly narrowed. I end up cutting myself off from a world of possibilities just because the feeling of being uncertain is sometimes too uncomfortable to bear. Can you relate?

How can we break the cycle?

Well, from my “work-in-progress” state, I offer up some alternative ways to be with uncertainty that are far more effective than surrendering to the illusion of control, which usually just ends up causing more drama in the end! Take a look at these simple yet impactful suggestions below, just in time for the new year and all the uncertainty it brings….

So, there you have it. I hope that provides you with a few helpful ways to make friends with your uncertainty in life. And just for some added closure, I want to share with you one of my favorite quotes about uncertainty by Jonathan Fields:

In eliminating uncertainty, we kill our shot at brilliance.

Food for thought, yes? If you were going to make 2016 brilliant, what uncertainty would you have to be willing to tolerate?

Consider that question a challenge! I look forward to seeing your brilliant selves shine!

Have a blessed remainder of the year and holiday season.

Love and light to you and yours,

Amy
