I’ve always been good at striving for something. Give me a difficulty, and I’ll work my way through it. Ironically, though I wouldn’t wish for difficulties, I often find I’ve had an easier time getting into action when faced with trying times.

If things are smooth sailing, and (dare I say) easy and flowing, sometimes I have a harder time orienting to the situation. I can feel a little lost. You see, I’ve discovered over the years that there is part of me that identifies largely with the struggle and overcoming it. In fact, I can identify with the struggle so much that it puts my will into overdrive, and I try to muscle my way through the challenges.

I usually succeed, but I’m left feeling exhausted and spent in some way or another. This gets old fast. So, in today’s episode I discuss an alternative way to persevere, one that comes without the exhaustion.

I believe it is possible to get stuff done without going crazy or burning out, but it requires a shift in perspective. Take a look.

Now, check in with yourself. In fact, just pick one of the tips I mentioned above and see if you can hone in on it for the rest of this week. How would your day change if you really embodied this new philosophy?

And it’s important to remember, as Walter Elliot once said, “Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after the other.” Practice, practice, practice. And soon you’ll wake up realizing you’re living in a new way.

Love and light,

Amy 🙂
