I think when I was younger, I thought true confidence looked like always having everything figured out; always knowing the right way to be and act; and I would just strut through life with grace and swagger. I would be, in a word, perfect! Sounds good, but now I know better.
True confidence is a lot more complex (and a lot more interesting) than a sterile definition of perfection.
True confidence, though it looks different on every person, rests on certain foundational principles. But sadly, a lot of these principles aren’t nearly as celebrated or promoted, or even fully recognized as a sign of true confidence.
I guess they aren’t as sexy sounding or looking as the perfectly sculpted images the media would like us to adopt. But don’t let that fool you. If you could really learn these principles and start applying them in your life, you could really experience what true confidence means. Take a look.

So what do you think of this definition of confidence? Does it ring true for you? As Ray Davis once said,
“Your greatness is revealed not by the lights that shine upon you, but by the light that shines within you.”
Indeed, true confidence emerges from within.
How would your life be different if you really lived by these principles of confidence? Would you set different goals or limits for your ultimate success?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below. And shine your light bright, sister. The world needs you!
