Ok, time to get real. Let’s look at the underbelly of personal growth, the ugly stuff that everyone wants to avoid. The stuff that everyone glosses over and pretends they don’t have.

We can’t avoid this; so I’ll take the lead. I have parts of me that are selfish, arrogant, jealous, angry, rude, self-pitying, self-righteous, and bitchy. I’d keep going, but I think you get the point.

A few years ago, I wouldn’t be able to admit that. But now, I know these things don’t make me a bad person or a screw up. They make me human. Should I choose to act out any of those feelings in irresponsible or thoughtless ways, well, then I might get myself into trouble. So, I use discernment.

Nonetheless, even if I don’t act on them, It’s very important that I acknowledge I have them.
