You know there’s a famous story about the Dalai Lama being at a conference on emotions and health, and a teacher in the audience asked about how to deal with the suffering of self-hatred.
Though he’s quite adept at understanding English, the Dalai Lama could not make sense of this concept of self-hatred no matter how the translators described it. When the translators explained that this type of belief was quite common, the Dalai Lama responded with astonishment, “How can anyone feel this way when we all have a buddha-nature?”
How indeed?
Whether you’re a Buddhist or not, you too have a higher knowing – your soul, your spirit, or whatever you like to call it. But when you are gripped by the dramas of the ego, it can be all to easy to lose sight of that higher knowing inside – that part of you that knows without a doubt that you are worthy. You, and every other soul on this planet is worthy of love; has a right to exist; and to take up space. And YOU MATTER.
Sadly, our increasingly fragmented society and the breakdown of family structures can make it hard for a little child to hang on to this universal truth, and we easily can get programmed to believe our worth is contingent upon our behavior, our clothes, our race, our gender, our sexual preference, our profession, our economic status, our hair color…you name it. We have found a thousand ways to belittle our divine nature.
We need to stop this virus of self-doubt and self-hate and re-establish our connection with the true knowing of our self worth. In today’s video, I give 5 practical tips on how to make that happen. Let’s watch.

The journey back to remembering and truly knowing and feeling your self worth is not one that happens overnight. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
Move forth with kindness for yourself and celebrate the small victories. Overtime, you’ll find a gentler inner voice talking back to you and a new way of being will start to bloom.
Hands down, re-establishing your self worth is not only the single most important thing you can do for yourself but also for the world. A new confident, grounded you can then bring the unique gifts that only you have to offer to the world. And the world needs you to shine now more than ever.
With blessings,
Amy
